The new collision cell is a curved ion concentration multipole (ICRM) that features both beam fragmentation (HCD) and precursor/product ion accumulation capabilities, which, controlled by dynamic automatic gain control (AGC), are released as ion packets to a linear ion trap at high pressure for subsequent manipulation or detection.
